About the author
I’m a man in his late 20′s, working as an IT-consultant with Advent Software. I enjoy travelling, good food and my main hobby, flying. I live in Oslo, Norway with my girlfriend Hedda, and we share a beautiful 2 bedroom penthouse apartement, bought during the beginning of the financial crisis, just in time to enjoy the decline in the housing market!
I grew up in Bergen, a beautiful city on the western coast of Norway and also the countries second biggest city. I know, with only around 250.000 inhabitants that doesn’t really say much, but Bergen is more diverse in culture and scenery than many cities 10 times it’s size. It’s got a pulsating city centre with a great night life, and for a nature experience there are no less than 7 mountains encircling the city, each one with a great amount of paths to hike on, and each one offering a different view.
I consider myself lucky since my job takes me places I wouldn’t otherwise get to see, getting to go from the Middle East to the US and all around Europe. Travelling is great benefit to the mind, and it gives you impressions which leaves you with a better understanding of the world around you.
The main reason I write about food on this blog is due to my friend Torstein. He’s a brilliant cook, and the assistant head chef at Bergens best restaurant, and he’s spoiled me rotten as far as food goes (thanks for that buddy)! Now I can still enjoy a burger, but I’ll enjoy fois gras or some nicely prepared crayfish more. I’ll be writing about all kinds of food experiences, from home cooked lunches and BBQ’s to visits to star restaurants, via the occasional burger joint.
